How to Get Started (employees)

We’ll help you every step of the way. (We have licensed brokers, too.)

StretchDollar makes it easy for small businesses to offer health benefits that work for everyone. Instead of being stuck with a one-size-fits-all plan, your employer gives you pre-tax dollars to put toward a health plan you choose.

How It Works

✔ Your employer sets a pre-tax budget for your health insurance
✔ You pick a plan from the marketplace that fits your needs (with help from one of our brokers, if you like)
✔ StretchDollar helps you get set up and reimbursed

How is this possible? We leverage something called an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement or ICHRA. If you want the nitty-gritty on ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement), check out our Not-So-Boring Guide to ICHRA.

Getting Started

Check your inbox! You should have two emails from StretchDollar:

  • Your Benefits Portal Access – This is where you’ll submit reimbursement requests.
  • Your Welcome Email – Includes a link to log in to your Benefits Portal and shop for health plans.

Set Up Your Benefits Portal in 5 Steps

  1. Sign in & set your password. Click the link in your invite email and set a password. (Can’t find it? Visit the log in page and click forgot password.)

  2. Answer a few quick questions.  Tell us your basic info and whether you want to enroll, waive, or learn more about your benefits. Need help? Reach out to support@stretchdollar.com.

  3. Link your bank account. This is where your health benefit dollars will be deposited. Go to “Bank Setup” and follow these steps.

  4.  Shop for a health plan. (Already have one? Skip this step!) Click “Shop” in the portal, answer a few questions, and browse plans in your state’s marketplace.

  5. Set up auto-reimbursements. Once you’ve got your health plan, set up auto-reimbursement so your benefit dollars get deposited into your account each month for the rest of the plan year.

That’s it! Once your auto-reimbursement is approved, you can sit back and relax knowing your pre-tax benefit dollars will hit your bank account every first of the month.
